Yeah nah, heard this before. They'll just slap some new rules on paper and call it a day. My mum's little fluffball got attacked by a roaming pitbull last month – still waiting for action.
South Auckland. Three attacks in my street this year alone, no prosecutions.
Simon Watts looking for a photo op with a labrador puppy, bet the actual enforcement budget got cut again.
k, because he's done such a stellar job on housing and infrastructure right?
ffs can we please just ban certain breeds already? Tired of seeing 'friendly family dog' headlines after another kid gets mauled.
agree. Breed specific legislation is trash, it's always how they're raised and managed.

Bloody council rangers can't even fine owners for letting dogs run loose in packs. New act won't mean squat without more boots on ground.
my brother's a ranger, they're so understaffed it's a joke. 5 guys covering the whole region.
How about we make dog owners sit a basic test before getting a license? Like human driving test but for furry idiots 😂
imagine the queue at the testing centre though 'sorry Mittens, you failed the temperament test'
Just walked past a guy with three off-leash staffies outside the dairy. Nothing happened but it's only a matter of time.
Wow so many negative comments. Our dog got attacked by an uncontrolled one last year but honestly most owners are responsible. Let's not punish everyone for the idiots.
story, tell that to the toddler who got their face ripped off. Stats don't lie.
Wonder if this act includes anything about barking? My neighbour's hound goes off at 5am every morning. Council does nothing.
