MYNZ is a place for locals to share what's happening in town. Using it means you agree to these rules.

House rules

• Be kind. No harassment, threats, hate, or bullying.
• No one's home address, phone number or private details without their OK. No naming or shaming private people.
• Don't accuse people of crimes. If someone is in danger, call 111.
• Keep it true. Don't post things you know are false, and mark alerts as cleared when they're over.
• No spam, scams, or selling things that are illegal or unsafe.
• Only post photos and videos you have the right to share.

Market

MYNZ just connects buyers and sellers. We don't check items, handle payments or guarantee anything. Meet in a public place, check items before paying, and never pay in advance by bank transfer for something you haven't seen.

Alerts and public data

Road, weather, quake, power, emergency and news posts come from the public sources shown on each post and may be late or incomplete. Always follow official advice from Civil Defence, NZTA, MetService, your lines company and emergency services. In an emergency, call 111.

Moderation

Anyone can report a post. We may remove posts, listings or chats that break these rules, and block devices that keep doing it. Under the Harmful Digital Communications Act you can also complain to Netsafe (netsafe.org.nz).

Your content

You own what you post. By posting you let us show it on MYNZ and in shares of MYNZ pages. You're responsible for what you post.

The fine print

MYNZ is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, MYNZ Limited isn't liable for losses from using the site or relying on its information. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or other New Zealand law. These terms are governed by New Zealand law. We may update them and will change the date above when we do.
