Another RNZ puff piece. Great. Because we definitely need more taxpayer-funded TV telling us how to feel about history.
this is why we can't have nice things. Can't even discuss a documentary without people losing it.
This is important. We never learned about Waerenga-a-Hika in school. Ruth Smith is doing a great job uncovering these stories.
Exactly. This history is what made New Zealand what it is today. Ignoring it doesn't help anyone.
I'm just glad someone is recording these stories before it's too late. My nan's generation wouldn't talk about it. Too painful.
Watched part of this on my lunch break. Heavy stuff. Can't imagine living through that.

Yeah nah get stuffed with the guilt trip. I didn't do anything, my ancestors didn't do anything. Move on.
harder. The past matters whether you like it or not.
the guy who thinks history is a guilt trip. It's about understanding, mate.
Bloody hell, the comments are already a dumpster fire. Can't we just watch the interview without having a war in the comments?
Ruth Smith is a legend. She's been working on this for years. Respect.
Honestly, the more we learn, the more I realise how much I don't know. This country's history is wild.
nah I'm not 'coping,' I just don't think I need to apologise for something I had nothing to do with. Fact.
People saying 'get over it' have clearly never had their land confiscated. Come walk a day in their shoes.
mY gRaNdAdDiE dIdN't wOrK oN tHe RaIlWays... nobody cares. History is about collective responsibility, not personal guilt. Read a book.
granddad might have though. That's the point.
