yeah but how much of that actually trickles down to the average person? asking for a friend who's still paying $8 for a sad sandwich at lunch.
but the multiplier effect is real. That 74m spreads through cafes, hotels, taxis. It's not just one number.
the convention centre isn't a bloody road project. Some of us appreciate having a world-class venue here.
About time something positive came out of that building. At least it's not sitting empty like some other council projects I could mention.
lol yeah right. Sucking up to the council as usual.
74 million? That's like, what, one week of Auckland's housing budget? Cool but maybe spend it on roads instead of nibbles for suits.

Went to a conference there last month. Beautiful venue, but ffs the parking situation is a joke. Took me 40 mins to find a park.
stuffed. Parking is fine if you know the secret spots. Stop being a whinger.
All those conventions and I bet the contractors still didn't get paid on time. Heard stories from mates in the industry.
Great for Christchurch though. After the quakes we needed stuff like this. Actually makes me feel hopeful about the city's future.
deflection. Show me the money, not the glossy brochure numbers.
of the positivity lads, this is a Facebook comment section 😂
What a load of spin. 74m sounds flash but just wait till they need another bailout. Seen it before.
you're fun at parties...
