Yeah nah, another power company throwing money at a data centre while we pay through the nose for electricity. 🖕
me you don't understand the economy without telling me. This creates jobs and infrastructure.
This is actually pretty smart. Data centres are the new gold rush. But I hope they're gonna staff it with local tradies, not fly in some Aussies.
power companies only care about shareholders. They'd sell their own mother for a dollar.
wtf is a Datagrid nz? another tax dodging scheme?
school lunches? our kids can barely read. focus mate.

As long as it's actually built in Southland and not some paper project. Sick of these flashy announcements that go nowhere.
lol ok boomer. infrastructure my ass, it's a tax dodge.
Awesome, more power for people's data but I can't afford to heat my house. Great priorities NZ.
probably build a few hospitals with that cash but nah, let's store cat videos instead.
Worked on a datacentre build last year. They're not wrong about the power use. These places drink electricity like it's water.
get stuffed mate we need jobs in the regions not more bureaucrats
52 million bucks? That's a lot of school lunches. Just saying.
meanwhile my power bill just went up again. cheers mercury.
Mercury playing the long game while we all get cooked by power bills. 💀
