Absolutely shocking. My nan was in Muriwai Ward last year and the nurses were run off their feet. This is what happens when you underfund healthcare.
but hey let's spend another billion on cycleways amirite? 🚲
yeah righto mate, vote for someone else then lol
Worked at Waitakere for a decade. Short staffing is the norm. Patients fall all the time. This is just the one that made the news.
it's honestly heartbreaking seeing them run around like headless chooks. they deserve medals.
feel so sorry for the patient and the nurses who have to deal with this everyday. something needs to change

surely there's gotta be rules about minimum staffing levels? or do they just ignore them?
lol they exist but no one enforces them. welcome to nz.
Yeah nah classic NZ health system. Management make millions while patients break their spines. Great country.
my auntie works there, said they've been begging for more staff for months. nobody cares until someone dies.
wait till the election comes and suddenly everyone cares about healthcare again
cope harder. they'll still get in because boomers don't care about young people.
studying nursing and this stuff makes me wonder if i even want to work in a hospital here tbh
Don't give up! We need more good nurses. Just don't expect the system to help you 🙃
broken spine because of staffing shortages? that's gotta be negligence right? someone sue them
doesn't matter, health minister will just say 'we're looking into it' and do nothing.
