Toxic gas from rotting fish waste nearly killed two workers aboard fishing boat

This is exactly why we need stricter safety regulations on these fishing vessels. Two people nearly died from toxic gas that could have been prevented with proper ventilation and gas detectors. But no, the fishing industry just wants to cut corners and save a few bucks. Disgraceful.

Worked on a trawler years ago, this stuff is no joke. Hydrogen sulfide builds up in the hold, one wrong move and you're gone. Lucky they got out alive.
