Because they're not bloody cold, that's why. Kids run around like lunatics while we're standing there shivering. Leave 'em alone.
yeah but some kids genuinely don't feel cold the same way. my nephew has some condition, he'd be in shorts all year if his mum didn't force him.
yeah nah, it's a control thing. they know we want them to wear a jumper so they refuse. classic.
lol tell that to the wind chill while you're waiting for the bus, mate
My kid says she 'can't feel her arms' in a jumper. What even is that?
ffs just let the kids be cold for five minutes, they'll put the jumper on. natural consequences. we don't need a whole article about it.

As a primary school teacher, I see this daily. It's a sensory thing for some kids. Tags, tight sleeves, wool. Doesn't help when parents buy those scratchy jumpers.
facts. and the fabric thing is real. my son only wears one specific cotton hoodie, nothing else.
my daughter wears a hoodie in summer and refuses a jacket in winter. make it make sense 😭
ok but why is this news? feels like a slow day at Stuff HQ again
honestly same energy as articles about 'why won't my toddler eat vegetables'. kids are chaotic, news at 11.
Literally just had this argument with my 8yo this morning. He's in a t-shirt, it's 12 degrees. Little legend.
my son is the same. i think they just run so hot from playing. we're all about that base layer life now.
