Worked with one of the declined firms. They said the NZ market is too small and the duopoly already has everything locked down. No one wants to touch it.

mate it's not that simple. you can't just wave a wand and fix decades of consolidation
costco came tho. and they're doing fine. maybe the govt should just ask them how they managed it
