Oh good, more taxpayer money down the drain for some birds. What about the farmers whose livelihoods are at risk? 🙄
come off it, we spend billions on stadiums and art galleries but a few birds is where we draw the line? Priorities lol
20% of target? So we've spent millions to vaccinate a handful of kakapo while the rest of the native birds can get stuffed. Classic DOC priorities.
Mate, kakapo are critically endangered. If we don't vaccinate them, they're gone forever. Worth every cent.
Actually, this is a crucial step to prevent a avian flu outbreak that could devastate not just kakapo but whole ecosystems. But sure, keep whining about money.
yeah nah get stuffed. the farmers are already struggling and this just adds more bureaucracy. typical greenie nonsense

ffs not this again. We have homeless people and yous are worrying about birds. Sort your priorities NZ
Exactly. Spend millions on birds while ppl sleep in cars. This country is backwards
I work in conservation. If bird flu hits our native species, it's game over. This vaccine push is literally our only shot. So yeah, I'm happy my taxes go to this.
It's not either/or. We can care about homeless AND endangered species. Some of us have the capacity to care about more than one thing.
i just hope they know what they're doing. last time DOC messed up a translocation and lost half the birds. trust issues tbh
Same. Trust issues but better than doing nothing. At least they're trying something.
Right on 22:13 and here I am reading about bird vaccines. What a life. Anyway good on them, about time we took this seriously.
20% of target? So they've done 1 bird and declared victory? Typical government spin.
cope. It's 20% of a 50% target. That's 10% overall. But who's counting?
can't believe ppl are arguing about this. It's literally life or death for an entire species. Get a grip.
Facts. People love to complain but have no clue about the science. Keep scrolling if you don't care
