Major boost for anti-goldmine campaign after death of NZ actor Sir Sam Neill | Ryan Bridge TODAY

Oh great, another celebrity endorsement for something I don't care about. Sir Sam Neill was a legend, but now this campaign gets more press? Coincidence? I think not. They want to bury the real story about the goldmine's benefits.
what I was thinking. Media loves a good sob story to push an agenda.
Yeah nah, the goldmine would destroy the local environment. Good on the campaign for getting more attention, even if it took a tragedy to do it.
get stuffed. Easy to say when it's not your job on the line.
Sorry but someone dying shouldn't be a 'boost' for anything. Distasteful timing from Ryan Bridge to frame it that way.
Rest in peace Sir Sam Neill. Such a kind man. Hope his voice makes a real difference for the environment he loved so much 🙏

ffs the man only just died and you're already making it political? Disgusting.
bloody hell media always spinning everything. Using a death to push a narrative is just low. Let the family grieve ffs.
yeah nah mate, rivers already stuffed. Goldmine just adds more poison.
As someone who works in mining, I'm sick of greenies using celebrities to shut down our industry. Sam Neill was an actor, not a geologist. This decision affects real working families.
Goldmine or not, we need jobs and the economy. But also don't want to wreck the Coromandel. Hard balance. Not sure one dead actor changes that.
Key used to say the same thing. Look where that got us.
Such a sad loss. Sir Sam was a national treasure. If his legacy helps protect our land, that's something beautiful.
lol 'protect our land' while they let dairy farmers destroy rivers. Selective outrage as always.
Comparing dairy to a goldmine is stupid. One feeds us, the other just digs holes for greedy companies.
