Great, another fashion show I'll never be invited to while I'm fixing my rusty letterbox. At least these ones aren't culture vultures, I'll give 'em that.
So proud to see our Māori designers getting the spotlight. Kiri Nathan does amazing work ❤️
and Kiri Nathan actually sources ethically from what I've heard. Not like those multinationals slapping a koru on a t-shirt and calling it a day.
Authentic representation? Or just another corporate box-ticking exercise? Let's see if their prices reflect 'authenticity' or just another premium markup.
i had the same thought but then i looked into Kiri Nathan - she does workshops in local communities and pays fair wages. it's not just marketing fluff.
i love that they're showing real stories behind the clothes. it's about time the fashion industry stopped pretending everyone lives in a vacuum

read the article mate, they're literally talking about fair trade and local production. Get off your high horse.
yeah nah more power to them, but can we talk about how this industry treats garment workers? representation on the runway is pointless if the back end is still exploiting overseas labour
come on, let's celebrate something nice for once without turning it into a lecture. These wahine are doing good work and that's enough.
point, but I'll believe it when I see a breakdown of their supply chain. Too many 'ethical' brands hide behind pretty words.
Bloody artists getting all the attention while my mailbox rots. But seriously, nice to see some actual culture instead of fast fashion garbage.
