Worked at the racecourse for 10 years. Gutted to see it go. That place was a proper community hub, not just betting. The stables alone employed dozens of locals. All for more shoebox flats.

Good riddance. Racing is a dead industry. Use the land for something that actually helps people, like a park or affordable housing. Not another bloody steakhouse.

Has anyone actually seen the redevelopment plans? Funny how the council sells off public land to developers and then cries poor when the infrastructure can't cope. But sure, spin it as 'revitalisation' 🙄
