Back in my day we didn't have all this 'retail spending' nonsense. We grew our own veges and mended our clothes. Too many people wasting money on avocados and flat whites.

yeah nah, can't afford to go out anymore. $20 for a basic sandwich is a joke.
my rent went up $50 a week. Can't even save for a house deposit.
Maybe if the government hadn't hiked interest rates we'd actually be able to spend money. But nah let's just blame the consumers.
