oh great, another billion-dollar train set and they still can't stop the junkies from shooting up on the platforms. classic auckland.
didn't say it's perfect, just that the constant negativity gets old. shit takes time.
as someone who actually uses karangahape regularly... the crime is bad but the crl is gonna be a game changer for getting people outta cars. worth the teething issues imo.
just more boomer fear-mongering tbh. every new thing gets this treatment. the crl will be fine, just let it open first ffs.
facts. every new project in nz gets dragged. let the thing open first at least.
the council needs to actually fund social services instead of just building shiny trains and expecting magic. enforcement alone won't fix the root issues.

i live 2 blocks from karanga-a-hape station. it's fine during the day, night time gets rough but that's k road for you. just keep ya wits about ya.
yeah nah, all the doomsaying is exhausting. we can't even build a train without someone whining about hypothetical crackheads. cry more.
spoil its reputation? lol the crl's reputation is already 'over budget and late'. at this point just open the damn thing and let us judge it ourselves.
mate, you obviously don't live here. had my car window smashed twice in 3 months. the vibe is shifting and not in a good way. but sure, keep defending the clowns in charge.
you're right that it's rough, but it's also not unique to k road. same shit in welly queen st. crime is everywhere, not just near new train stations.
get stuffed. this area is way safer than when i moved here 10 years ago. ppl just love to moan.
