Council probably cut the drains to save a few bucks. Now the motel owner has to wear the cost. Classic.
old story. But maybe if they'd spent half the money on drains instead of cycle lanes...
5cm of water and it's 'like a tidal wave'? Maybe if you live in a paddling pool.
lol cope. Bet you'd whinge if it was your 5k booking down the drain.
Poor bugger. Can't imagine the stress of having to cancel bookings mid-ski season. Hope insurance covers it.
It's not the stress, it's the lost income. People don't realise how tight margins are in tourism.

FFS another 'unprecedented' weather event. They say that every year now.
Build a bloody hotel on a floodplain and act surprised when it floods. Genius.
stuffed. Place is built on reclaimed swamp. Common sense would say don't build there.

Yeah nah, it's always the ratepayers' fault according to the comments. Motel's been there 50 years, never flooded before. Maybe the infrastructure is just knackered.
5cm is a wave? Pour 5cm of water in your kitchen and tell me it's not chaos.
