As someone who works in construction, that fire damage would've spread through the framing. It was never getting fixed cheaply. They should've knocked it down a decade ago ffs.

I guess the council had to step in eventually, even if it took too long. Better late than never.
It's so sad that the house sat empty for so long. The neighbours must have been worried about it being a fire hazard. I'm glad something's finally being done.

Still don't get why the council bought it. If it's dangerous, make the owner fix it or seize it. Now we all pay for their incompetence.
nah the place was riddled with asbestos after the fire, demo costs go way up. still a shitshow tho.
