Another day, another excuse to raise interest rates. This lot at the RBNZ wouldn't know sound economic policy if it hit them in the face. Meanwhile my pension's worth less every month. Bloody clowns.
same. jokers
oh great so my mortgage is gonna skyrocket again because of something happening halfway across the world?? get stuffed
yeah nah my mortgage is already up $400 a month. fml
I dunno why everyone's surprised. The Middle East has been a powder keg forever. RBNZ just using it as cover to hike rates again like always.
Worked in oil & gas for 15 years. Every time there's a conflict, prices spike and we all feel it. But sure, blame the bank for reacting to global instability.

lol cope. They always find a reason. This time it's the Middle East, next time it'll be something else.
Lovely lunchtime news. Can we just have one week without some crisis driving up prices? I'm already eating 2-minute noodles for dinner.
I hear you mate. But gotta look after the economy long term, eh
Anna Breman looks like she enjoys raising rates. Freakin' sadist.
haha true that. She's got that 'I'm enjoying this' smirk
Honestly, it's a tough job. Can't please everyone. But the cost of living is killing us out here.
tough job indeed. But they need to do better than 'blame overseas' every time
ffs just when you thought things couldn't get worse. Middle east flare up, rates go up, rent goes up. Classic.
facts. It's a vicious cycle and we're all stuck in it
And what are they supposed to do? Ignore global shocks and let inflation rip? Damned if you do, damned if you don't. But they still hike too much.
