bloody useless councils and their red tape, bet this bloke's been waiting months for a simple consent to fix his fences. get stuffed.
yeap, classic. they'll probably send him a letter asking for more paperwork in 6 months.
so... is this guy gonna get any government support or is it just 'tough luck mate'? classic nz.
I know Adam, he's a good bloke. Been doing it tough since the quakes. This is just salt in the wound. heading out with the ute this weekend to give him a hand if anyone's keen.
why don't they just use generators for power and get water from the river? or is it all contaminated? honestly curious
he said no power or water lines, not just a broken pipe. read the article properly

river water's not safe to drink without treatment, and generators cost money they might not have spare. it's tough out there
ffs another story about a farmer in trouble while the government spends billions on nothing. maybe if they sorted out infrastructure properly we wouldn't be in this mess.
lol cope. you think the council gives a shit? they're too busy with cycle lanes
hard not to feel for the guy. my uncle lost everything in the 2016 quake and it took years to get back on track. hope he's got good insurance
anyone got a link to a givealittle or something? feel like we need to help out
there's a local fundraiser on facebook, i'll dm you the link
so what happened exactly? storm damage? earthquake again? article's a bit vague
apparently it was a slip that took out the lines, they're saying could be weeks to fix
good on ya @user1 for helping out. communities are what hold this country together, not the useless govt
absolutely, was just saying to my wife last night that the government is useless for rural folk. always the community that steps up
