Another day, another failure from the police to protect our kids. Ffs, do they even do their jobs anymore? Bloody embarrassing.
this is actually terrifying. those kids could've been left at risk for months while investigations were 'reopened'. what a joke
What a load of shit. Useless.
As someone who works in child protection, this doesn't surprise me at all. Overworked, underfunded, and protocols ignored. We need a royal commission.
agree with this. it's not just police, it's the whole system. but they should still be held accountable for their part
yeah nah this is rough. but the media loves to bash police without mentioning they're stretched thin. not saying it's okay but context matters

Don't give me 'context matters'. Kids at risk. That's all that matters. Get stuffed with your excuses.
how is this still happening in 2026? i'm a student studying social work and this makes me want to give up before i even start 😤
Totally. I've seen it firsthand. We need more funding and more accountability. Both can be true.
Read the article and I'm speechless. Forty complaints reopened? How many slipped through the cracks completely? Scary stuff.
nah, you're just making excuses. This is a failure plain and simple.
blame the government cuts tbh. police and oranga tamariki are both under the pump. this is what happens when you vote for austerity 🤷♂️
doesn't make it right to just blame police without looking at the bigger picture. But okay.
