ashley was 18, legally an adult. police probably thought she ran off. but still, should've at least searched properly. heartbreaking.
bloody hell. my neighbour's kid went missing last year and police were there all night. inconsistent as always.
i've heard they're understaffed but that's no excuse for abandoning a search.

police say they followed protocol but protocol clearly isn't good enough. needs a proper inquiry.
