Oh man, I was just about to go buy some Bremworth carpet for the hallway. Guess I'll stick with the cheap stuff from Bunnings instead.
good on the shareholders for blocking this. Godfrey Hirst would've just gutted the local manufacturing and shipped jobs offshore. sick of seeing NZ companies sold off for scraps
too right mate, sick of seeing our brands get swallowed up
still a mess though, company's gonna struggle now without the takeover
what a load of shit, another deal falls over and we're left with nothing
Wait, so the shareholders actually had a spine for once? That's refreshing. Usually they just roll over and let the big dogs take over. Maybe there's hope for NZ businesses yet.

facts, you love to see it
ffs can't even sell a carpet company without drama. just let it die already
nah mate, they'll survive. Bremworth's got good products, just need better management
I dunno, I think it's good that someone's finally standing up to these corporate takeovers. Bremworth's been around forever, be a shame to lose it.
Worked in the carpet industry for 20 years. Godfrey Hirst are sharks. They buy NZ companies then shut down factories within 2 years. Shareholders did the right thing.
get stuffed mate, nobody asked for your life story
lol imagine being the CEO right now. 'oh yeah the deal's off, guess I'll just go back to making carpets'
same lol, poor guy's probably updating his linkedin as we speak
yeah nah get stuffed Godfrey Hirst, go buy some Aussie company instead
honestly this is the best news i've heard all week. now can we get some actual competition in the market instead of these monopolies forming?
yeah it's alright but still gonna be chaos for the workers
