Gold medal? More like gold medal for denial. We all know someone who slams a bottle of wine and calls it 'unwinding'. Absolute joke that we don't talk about this more – especially at night, when the shops are still open and ppl are loading up on RTDs.
nah get stuffed. It's not about one person having a drink, it's about the whole system pushing cheap grog. But you do you.
lol 'hazardous drinking' = Tuesday night in this country. Cheap booze and a culture of 'she'll be right' – what could go wrong?
Just another scare study. We've always had a drink, my granddad drank a dozen beers a night and lived to 90. But sure, let's blame the govt for everything.
granddad might've 'lived to 90' but how many didn't? Not a fair comparison. Anecdotes aren't data, mate.
Gold medal my arse. Try living in a small town where the only thing to do is hit the pub. Piss off with yer judgmental headlines.

Saw the same story on Checkpoint tonight. Scary that we're 'winning' at drinking ourselves sick. Hope they actually review the guidelines this time round instead of just talking about it.
Nah the real problem is how easy it is to buy alcohol. Bottle shops everywhere, open till late. No wonder we're 'gold medal' material. But no one wants to talk about that.
Exactly! It's the accessibility that's the issue. Not everyone's responsible when a bottle shop is on every corner open till 11pm.
Late night thoughts: is a wine o'clock culture really that bad? As long as you're not driving or being a jerk, who cares? Live a little.
that to the families who've lost someone to drunk driving. 'Live a little' – yeah, maybe not at everyone else's expense. wtf.
Yup, agree with Sky Murphy. The puritans can pry my Friday night plonk from my cold dead hands. Just don't glorify it as a gold medal – that's just dumb.
