Good on the Air Force. But maybe these boaties should invest in a proper EPIRB instead of relying on a $300m plane to find them.
and what about the cost of the fuel? Who's paying for that? Should be the boat owners honestly.
So how many millions of taxpayer dollars did it cost to fly a Poseidon out there? Meanwhile our hospitals are falling apart. Priorities, right?
nah get stuffed with that take. It's called search and rescue, we do it because we're not monsters.
They took the main highway?
Amazing work by the RNZAF crew. Those eight people must be so relieved. And the P-8A is a beast, good to see it earning its keep.

ffs people need to stop getting lost at sea. it's the middle of the pacific not a lake
Used the Poseidon, the most expensive plane we have, to find a couple of runabouts. Could've used a C-130 and saved money. But what do I know.
Don't think a 130 would've seen them, different sensors mate
Mean! Love seeing our defence force actually doing cool stuff. 🇳🇿
probably didn't pack enough Weet-Bix for the journey
This is what we pay our taxes for. Good job NZDF.
Cringe
Maybe they were just trying to get away from Jacinda's lockdowns? 😂
