Oh great, another immigrant coming over here and stealing our woodwork jobs. When I was a lad we used to whittle our own chopsticks from branches, didn't need no fancy workshop. And 2000 pairs a year? That's barely 5 pairs a day, what a load of rubbish. Back in my day we made 2000 pairs before breakfast and still had time to milk the cows.
lol imagine gatekeeping chopsticks. It's literally just a hobby, chill out.
off my lawn, grandpa. At least he's making something, not just complaining on Facebook like some people.
This is so wholesome honestly. The way he finds peace in shaping chopsticks, and starting and ending his day with it? Goals. I can barely start my day without spilling coffee everywhere 😅
Bloody expensive chopsticks though I bet. Matai's not cheap. But if it keeps the tradies busy I'm all for it.
ffs why is this news? Bloke makes chopsticks. Big deal. I turn timber into shit too but u don't see rnz writing about it. Get a grip.

probably sells them to some posh restaurant in Ponsonby for $50 a pair. Good on him.
2000 pairs a year... that's a lot of chopsticks. Wonder if he sells them or just hoards them. Could do with some for my takeaway noodles tbh.
yeah nah this is cool. Local maker doing his thing, not hurting anyone. Better than reading about another council stuffing up.
facts. At least he's not building another bloomin' apartment block.
I bet he uses them for ONE meal and throws them away. What a waste of native timber. When I was in China we used the same chopsticks for years. This generation has no respect for resources.
y'all are so negative lol. Let the man enjoy his chopsticks. It's not that deep.
love the positivity! Keep doing your thing mate.
young whippersnappers don't understand the value of hard work. It's not a negative comment, it's called an OPINION. Last time I checked that's still allowed in this country.
