she's right, you have to water them more often. But worth it for the fruit.
Dwarf trees are great if you're short on space, but they need more care in my experience.

We planted a dwarf plum last spring. First fruit this year - absolutely delicious!
but once it's trained it's pretty low maintenance. Plus it looks amazing against a wall.
Mum has both types. Dwarfs are easier to pick but standards look more majestic tbh
