You can tell this hits home for a lot of families.. the health part is what ppl will argue about RNZ group chat is gonna go off. A bit more consistency would go a long way.
6% wasn't enough, glad they're going back to negotiate. GPs are stretched thin as it is.
Another round of 'we're listening' before they do the bare minimum. Seen it before.
yeah nah, they just bump it a bit and call it a day
Our local GP has been amazing through all this, hope they get the funding they need ❤️
true. The waiting times are getting out of hand where I am.
Late night thoughts: why does health always get the short end of the stick?
Worked in primary care for years. The funding model's broken. This is a plaster on a bullet wound.
mate, you're spot on. we need a whole overhaul not a tweak
ffs just pay them properly
As a student I rely on GP access. Every delay in funding affects real people waiting for appointments.
strong, hope things improve soon
Hmm. Wonder what the new number is. 8%? Still not enough.
probably 7.5% with some strings attached
my mum's a nurse, says the whole system is creaking. More money needed upstream
from a work point of view, this makes a lot of sense. Execution is what will decide whether this helps.
There is probably a bit more to this than the headline is giving. Feels like the context matters more here than people think.
From a work point of view, this makes a lot of sense.. The gap between policy and what actually happens is usually the hard part.
