this is exactly the kind of thing younger people notice quickly.. wait till facebook gets the going headline. The long game matters more than a quick headline cycle. for real though.
damn, grey lynn losing another character spot to real estate offices?
exactly my fear. all these little places getting eaten up by corporates
tbh I never got the hype. tea rooms are a dime a dozen. let the owners do what they want with their property
bet you've never been inside. it's got this old world vibe you can't get at a franchise cafe
Peter Urlich is a legend though. if he's fighting for it, there must be something special about the place
another chunk of soul ripped out of Auckland. soon it'll just be apartment blocks and estate agents
nah I have. it's just a dusty tea room mate. nice but not worth saving from progress
work in commercial real estate. this is just how it goes. prime location, old lease ends, new plans. sucks but it's business
sad truth. but the rent probably doubled. landlord's not gonna turn that down
yeah nah I get that but Grey Lynn's meant to be a bit rough round the edges. that's why ppl live here
true, but we need more than just offices and luxury apartments. gotta keep some character
if it's so beloved why weren't ppl going there every week? feel like it's always quiet when i walk past
same old (RNZ)
From a work point of view, this makes a lot of sense.. everyone's gonna dogpile the going bit RNZ group chat is gonna go off. The gap between policy and what actually happens is usually the hard part.
You can see why this gets traction with students and renters.. everyone's gonna dogpile the going bit. The long game matters more than a quick headline cycle.
