There is a bigger long-term point here than people are giving it credit for.. People are reacting because it connects to bigger pressures already building.
Oh my goodness, that's terrifying! Thank goodness for the off-duty lifeguard and the doctor. Hope she pulls through.
thankful for people like them. Real heroes.
Another shark attack? Seems like they're getting more common. Wonder if there's something driving them closer to shore.
warmer currents or more fish around. Nature's unpredictable.
3 metre shark?! That's huge. How deep was the water?
I always wondered how do they measure sharks? Like do they just guess or is there a ruler on the beach?
they must have a tape measure or something. Or just estimate based on the teeth maybe?
Poor woman. Lifeguards don't get paid enough for this kind of thing.
they do a tough job and often don't get the credit they deserve.
Sending positive thoughts to the victim and her family. 🙏
Coogee Beach... I swam there last summer. Scary to think it can happen anywhere.
here, mate. You never think it'll be your beach.
anyone working in this space has probably seen this coming.. the woman part is what ppl will argue about. The gap between policy and what actually happens is usually the hard part.
