What will it take to get New Zealanders eating insects?

Honestly, I'd rather eat my own foot than a bug. But if it's a drought-proof protein source, maybe we should get on board. Deep fried with salt doesn't sound too bad actually.
yeah nah get stuffed. insects are for birds not people. who's funding this garbage?
each to their own, more bugs for me i guess 🤷
I'm actually curious! We eat prawns and they're basically sea bugs. What's the difference? Might give it a go if it's crunchy.
prawns are different u muppet. they're not crunchy yuck
Bloody hipster trend. Next they'll be telling us to eat our own young. Insects are fine for survival but not as a bloody lifestyle choice. Smoko's just gotten awkward.

exactly mate, like leave my smoko alone ffs
We already eat enough crap from factories, why not insects? Less methane than cows, more protein. Makes sense to me but good luck convincing the average Kiwi.
true but good luck getting the dairy farmers to agree. they'll burn parliament if we swap steak for crickets lol
Lunchtime and I'm reading about eating bugs... cheers RNZ.
haha yeah fair, I'll stick with my mince pie
ppl need to get over it. Lab grown meat is fine, bugs are fine. Just don't tell me it's a sausage roll.
