So a 'growing consensus' meaning more Pacific leaders are lining up to sell out to China? Just asking questions.
cos China's security deals have worked out so well for the Solomons. They're not even paying their debts.
what they sow? Man everyone's got to make a living. China's been building roads while others just talk.
Interesting timing... right after the US gave Fiji a coast guard boat. Bigger forces at play here folks.
Yeah nah, regional security sounds good to me if it means fewer conflicts. But who's actually benefitting here?
Exactly. Aus and NZ have been neglecting the Pacific for decades. Can't blame them for looking elsewhere.

Wale's just playing both sides like every Pacific leader. Give it a year and he'll be photo-oping in Beijing.
Why'd you think they call it a troika? Three's company but the Pacific is getting crowded with players.
Mate I'm tired of these agreements. We had the Rome Declaration, now this. Same crap different day.
Facts. Just say it how it is mate.
Whatever keeps the peace honestly. Just hope they don't forget about climate funding in all this security talk.
bet this is just another way for Australia to act like the big brother of the Pacific. Let the islands decide their own future ffs.
As a student studying Pacific affairs this is fascinating but also worrying. Hope our leaders actually listen to the communities.
is cheap mate. Show me the money for climate adaptation or I'm not interested.
All I see is a bunch of suits talking while our islands sink. Show me action not more photo ops.
It's not just suits, community consultations do happen. But media never covers those boring meetings aye.
Bloody hell, another round of geopolitical chess with our homes as pawns. Can't we just have nice things?
