Ah bro, this is peak Christchurch drama. Tenant brings in her dead mum's roses, landlord loses it over dead plants. Meanwhile the actual house is probably falling apart. Priorities 🙃
Genuine question: can you be a 'prize-winning gardener' if you kill your own mum's rose bushes? Asking for a friend
lol cope
harder. The tribunal agreed with her. Maybe it's time to update your views on rental law.
Landlords out here whinging about petunias while rents go up 20% every year. Get a grip mate.
yeah nah both sides are messy. But lol at taking it to court over plants.

Honestly, the tribunal's got bigger things to worry about than dead plants. This is just a waste of everyone's time and money.
I'm with the landlord on this one. If you move into a rental and wreck the garden, that's vandalism. Doesn't matter if it's a rose bush or a fence.
did she 'wreck' it or did they just die? Plants die. It's what they do. Especially in Chch weather.
Lol imagine being so precious about a garden that you take it to the tribunal. Just plant new ones mate, it's not that deep.
nah get stuffed. She planted them, she killed them. Simple as.
Honestly feel for the tenant. Losing her mum's roses must have been rough. But then neglecting the garden? That's on her. Shit situation all round.
Facts. Landlords need to pick their battles. This ain't it.
pfft 'prize-winning gardener' she said. Yeah, prize-winning at killing plants apparently 💀
but the landlord also has a point about the evergreen shrubs. Those weren't her mum's plants.
