About time. Seen too many people stay in shit relationships cos they're worried about their pets.
Oh sweet, another law that'll do nothing. Abusers just won't care, they still control every other aspect of your life. But hey, check the box, move along.

yet my mate reported her ex for killing her cat and the cops said 'civil matter.' This law means nothing if it's not enforced.
Actually this is huge. Pet abuse is a massive red flag and often escalates. So many refuges don't take pets which stops people leaving. Good on Karen Chhour.

saw this on the news, my neighbour's ex threatened to kill her cat if she left him. This law would've helped her so much.
Same. My aunt stayed 2 extra years because her refuge didn't take cats. This would save lives.
So many people in L&M shelter because they wouldn't leave their dog behind. This is a no-brainer.
