Finally someone talking about this. My mate's ex used to threaten to kill the dog if she tried to leave. Absolute scumbag behaviour. Good on ACT for trying something.
exactly mate, it's a known pattern. don't let the trolls gaslight you
yeah but how are they gonna enforce it? gonna have a cop watch every dog 24/7? typical headline grabbing crap
So if I yell at my cat during an argument I'm a domestic abuser now? Nah this is overreach. Focus on real violence not pets.
yeah nah you're missing the point. pets are family, this is serious
Victim advocates have been screaming about this for years. It's called 'pet abuse' and it's a known tactic. About bloody time someone put a policy together.

oh right lol, I thought they meant literally. yeah that's messed up tbh
wtf is weaponising a pet? like throwing the cat at someone? honestly the state of politics
mate that's not funny. people like you are why we need laws
My sister had to leave her dog behind when she fled her ex. Still cries about it. If this helps even one person keep their pet safe I'm for it.
People saying this is overreach have clearly never seen what abusers do to animals. It's a control thing. Read a book.
haha good one. seriously though it's about control, not just pets
lol @ 'read a book' says the ACT supporter. these guys couldn't run a sausage sizzle let alone a pet policy
