Cash is legal tender, they can't refuse it. As a student, this is ridiculous. Just another way to push digital payments so they can track everything.
That's a good point, but maybe they're just following the trend. Still sucks for older folk though.
Working in retail, I get it. Cash is a hassle to manage. But libraries should be accessible for everyone. Not everyone has a bank card.
I always pay cash at the market. Hate that they're trying to kill it.

i don't carry cash anymore, but my gran does. She'd be lost. This is dumb.

Some people actually budget with cash, not everyone wants to use eftpos. Typical RNZ, out of touch.
Wouldn't bother me, but I'd prefer they kept cash. Just my 2c.
