Councils aren't perfect but removing their liability is just gonna leave homeowners holding the bag when stuff goes wrong. Seen it happen too many times.

Yeah nah this is bullshit. Councils should be accountable, they charge enough for consents. But leaving homeowners exposed is cooked.

Worked in construction for 15 years. This reform is a disaster waiting to happen. Councils will just shrug and say 'not our problem' while dodgy builders keep going.
