exactly. i'm still playing ps1 games from 20 years ago. good luck doing that with digital only.
as someone who works in the industry, this move makes sense financially but it's still a kick in the guts for collectors. digital only means we don't actually own anything.
lol who even buys discs anymore?? i haven't touched a physical game in years. get with the times.
get stuffed mate, some of us actually like owning stuff we paid for not just renting it.
I actually like having the disc, feels like I own the game. Plus you can trade or sell them. This is just greedy corporate bs.

facts. and the resale market is huge for people who can't afford full price. this hurts everyone on a budget.

honestly I just want to play the game, don't care if it's disc or download. but the anti-consumer stuff is worrying. no resale, no lending, no nothing.

bloody hell my internet is crap, a 100gb download would take me days. discs are still needed for rural folks.
biggest issue is preservation. once they flick the switch, entire libraries vanish. but hey, profit over everything right?
