yeah nah, pay parity for ECE was the only thing keeping some decent teachers in the centres. take that away and watch the good ones walk. classic government short-sighted bullshit.
facts. they'll just go to Australia. can't blame em.
My daughter's a kindergarten teacher. She works way harder than I do and gets paid peanuts. This is a joke.
yeah, article clearly says 'qualified'. try again.
Pay parity? What about primary teachers? ECE is glorified babysitting. Send your kid to a proper school if you want education.
I studied ECE for two years and now I'm reconsidering. If they axe pay parity, why bother? The workload is insane for what they pay.

mate, they're not unqualified. they're degree qualified. read the article.
Of course they propose this while the minister's mates run private centres. Ffs, who's on this advisory group? Property developers?
same, i've got a mate who's leaving for Melbourne in August cos of this crap.
honestly, my mum was an ECE teacher for 30 years. she loved it but could never afford a house. this is just disrespectful.
lol cope, it's just a proposal. don't get your knickers in a twist.
Oh cool, so we just accept that early childhood educators don't matter now? Sick of this government's priorities.
idk man, maybe if they got paid more we wouldn't have a shortage. but nah, let's just cut more and act surprised when centres close.
lol 'balance budgets' while they give tax cuts to landlords. pull the other one.
get stuffed. our kids deserve qualified educators not some budget cut.
Actually, pay parity was never sustainable. It was a nice idea but now we need to balance budgets. Sucks but it's reality.
Wait, are people actually defending paying unqualified staff the same as qualified? That's the real issue here.
