ffs Wakari again? Didn't they just get in trouble last year for something similar. Sort it out.
nah it's systemic. The whole system is broken.
This is actually so sad. My nan was in that ward and the nurses were lovely but it was clearly understaffed. Management needs a good kick up the arse.
I saw it firsthand. Night shifts were terrifying with 3 staff for 30 patients.
another day another NZ health scandal. what a shock 🙄
Why do we keep pouring money into these old hospitals instead of building new ones? Madness.

Worked there for 6 months. Exactly 0 surprises here. The place is held together with duct tape and prayers.
Gutted for the patients but also for the staff who are just tryna do their jobs with no resources. Classic underfunding.
Exactly. Closing wards is just shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.
Closing the ward doesn't fix the problem, just moves it somewhere else. They need more funding not closures.
get stuffed the govt won't spend a cent more than they have to
lmao 'potential human rights abuses' - that's a bit light for what actually goes on there I reckon
yeah right? ombudsman report will be full of weasel words
