Bloody hell, 70 and still working? I'm 55 and already planning my exit. These guys must love kale or hate their kids.
Exactly. Paper rich, cash poor. Bank owns most of it.
Yeah nah fair play to them. If you enjoy it why stop?
Bet they can't afford to retire. Farms are all debt and asset rich but cash poor. Seen it a hundred times.
tbh it's the tax system. Why sell when you can keep capital gains rolling?
At least they built something. Can't blame them for wanting to stay in the view.

ffs the housing market is cooked cos boomers won't give up their farms. Young farmers have no chance.
yeah cos one family farm is the reason house prices are high.
U ok mate?
Lovely story. Nice to see people enjoying what they've worked for.
More like 'why younger farmers can't afford to buy'.
Shit I'm 60 and still got 15 years in me. These oldies are soft.
get stuffed. Not everyone wants to work till they drop.
Wonder if they've actually got succession sorted or just hoping the kids want it.
bet they haven't. Classic 'we'll sort it later'.
