Absolute muppets buying houses in flood zones. Darwin Award contenders.
and when they get flooded and cry for govt handouts don't come whinging.
Yeah nah this is just classic speculation. People see 'cheaper' and forget the insurance premiums will eat them alive.
harder. Just because you bought a swamp doesn't make it smart.
My mate bought one of these, got flooded twice in a year. Still reckon it was a 'good investment' 🙄
But if the government keeps bailing them out with subsidies, why wouldn't they buy? Cheaper entry, same market gains. It's the system that's cooked.

exactly, system's a joke. Let the market burn, I mean flood.
Bloody climate change deniers buying up floodplains like it's a fad. Wait till the next 'once in a century' storm comes every five years.
the most NZ comment ever. 'She'll be right' til the water's up to your neck.
ffs my student loan says I can't even afford a damp flat and people are casually speculating on flood-risk houses. Cool cool cool.
yeah, 'personal responsibility' until your couch floats away. Then it's everyone else's fault.
Honestly as long as people know the risk and insurance reflects it, let 'em crack on. Not my problem if their lounge turns into a pool.
We live near a flood zone and honestly I sleep fine. People acting like every rainstorm is the apocalypse. Get a grip.
Wait so house prices actually go up faster in flood areas? That's so backwards. I need to change my investment strategy...
wish I had 'investment strategy' money instead of 'is it noodles again' money
