Facts. And it's not just rent - everything gone up. Petrol, insurance, rates. Meanwhile wages get a 'cost of living adjustment' that covers half of it.
I work in financial services and honestly, the gap between who's investing and who's scraping by is getting wider every month. Saw a client today who had to cash out her KiwiSaver early just to pay for repairs. Sickening.
That's awful. Hope she's okay. System's broken when people have to raid their future for today.

As a teacher I can't even think about investing. My KiwiSaver's been on holiday fund contributions for years. Too busy buying classroom supplies out of my own pocket.
