Another load of rubbish from the Electricity Authority. Like they're actually gonna pass on savings to us. I'll believe it when I see it.
to yours mate. They don't pass on savings. It's just a way to shift demand so they don't have to build new power plants.
Worked in retail power for 15 years. Time-of-use plans have been around forever for businesses, they just rebadged it. Don't expect huge savings, folks.
So let me get this straight... they're making it cheaper to run your washing machine at midnight? Cool, perfect for my insomnia I guess 😂
Honestly this is a good thing. We shifted our hot water to night rate years ago and saved heaps. People just need to get smart about when they use power.
we did that too. Trick is to set timers. Saved us about $30 a month.

What a joke. My last power bill went up 20% despite using less. They can shove their 'off-peak' rates where the sun don't shine.
nah get stuffed. Power companies are all sharks. They'll find a way to screw us.
Lunch break thought: will this actually help anyone working 9-5? Most of us can't just run appliances during the day. So it's off-peak at night or nothing.
but nighttime rates already exist. This just forces the big companies to offer them publicly instead of hiding them.
Wait so if I charge my EV at 2am it's actually cheaper? That's kinda dope tbh. Might finally be worth getting a smart charger.
mate. Peak times will just get more expensive. It's a shell game.
