This is exactly what happens when you don't address root causes. Transitional housing is just a band-aid. They should be building actual social housing, not shuffling people around like pawns. But hey, what do I know, I only work in housing policy.
This. I've seen families cycle through transitional housing 3 times. It's a revolving door.

it's a private rental at market rate that the govt subsidies. So we're paying landlords double. Good system.

Worked in housing for years. This is what happens when profit drives policy. Landlords and developers are laughing all the way to the bank while families get shuffled around like furniture.

Actually, if you'd read the full report, you'd see that 'other destinations' includes private rentals and boarding houses. Still not ideal, but it's not like they're all on the street.
