So we don't need to spend millions on planting trees? Just let the birds squat on our farms lmao
yeah nah get stuffed. I'd rather have productive land than some endangered bird that nobody cares about
DOC will still find a way to stuff it up though. Classic
yeah right, like farmers are gonna give up their precious land for some birds. get real
cope harder. not everyone wants to live in a national park
Actually seen a few of these on my mate's farm near Oamaru. They're pretty chill, just want a quiet spot to nest. Not rocket science

There's plenty of room for both if we just work together, no need for name-calling
More taxpayer money wasted on studies that tell us what we already know. Next they'll be paying scientists to watch grass grow
are you serious? The study says it works. Maybe read it before you go off
This is wonderful news! We can have both farming and conservation working together, what a positive outcome for our hoiho
Great, more red tape for farmers. Watch DOC come in and tell us we can't touch our own land
Oh please. The penguins were here long before factories and subdivisions. Maybe we should start there instead of blaming farmers
a breather mate, not everything is a conspiracy
ffs can't we just have something good for once? Both sides jumping down each other's throats 🤦
Funny how everyone's an expert all of a sudden. Article literally says it's a win-win but nah gotta be negative
is the most sensible thing anyone's said all day
Conservation groups: 'we need more funding' Also conservation groups: 'farmland works fine' Make it make sense
