Absolute rubbish. Labour kept kids fed for years without all this drama. National cuts everything and then acts surprised when the Auditor-General says something. Shameful.
on. Labour did a better job with this. National just slashes and burns.
Here we go, another report that'll sit on a shelf while kids go hungry. Wake me up when something actually changes.
thoughts exactly. Bring back proper school gardens and local suppliers.
I'm a truck driver and I see the food going to schools. It's all processed crap. Give 'em a proper meal or don't bother.
Yeah nah, the lunches I've seen my nephew bring home are sad. Little soggy sandwich and a warm muesli bar. Poor kids.

I'm a student at Otahuhu College and honestly, some of us rely on these lunches. They're not great but it's better than nothing. Just fix the quality ffs.
they just don't care. As long as the election's safe.
What a surprise, the government fumbles something simple. My taxes going to this garbage scheme while they cut health. Priorities, right?
yeah, some of my classmates just skip lunch rather than eat that crap. It's not ok.
Our local school does it themselves with volunteers and it works fine. Problem is the govt outsourcing to some big company that only cares about profit.
they'll pat themselves on the back for saving a few bucks while kids go hungry. Disgusting.
Agreed. But hey, at least we got tax cuts for landlords, right? 🙄
Can't believe this is still going. Feed the kids properly, it's not that hard. Embarrassing for NZ.
I work in a school kitchen. The amount of food waste is shocking. But the kids won't eat the cheap stuff. Give them something decent and they'll eat it. Simple.
over kids, classic NZ story. This country's gone to the dogs.
