Yeah right, massive mussels? Sounds like clickbait but actually interesting science. Hope they actually clean the gulf up though.
nah they're actually recreating historical mussel beds that got dredged to hell. Real restoration work, not just big mussels for the gram
As someone who works in aquaculture, this is actually huge. Green-lipped mussels are already magic, imagine bigger ones filtering more water
here we go, the doom merchants. Some of us still believe in science. Take your cynicism elsewhere mate
Oh great, more taxpayer money on mussels while we can't afford petrol. Priorities 🙄
This is so cool! Doing my masters on Hauraki Gulf restoration, these replicated beds will be a game changer for biodiversity

cos petrol companies are gonna fix the gulf? Get real. This is exactly the kind of project we need, not another motorway
Massive mussels. That's what they said about the kiwifruit. Then PSA happened. Let's see how long this lasts lol
last words. Remember when they said the reef was gonna save everything? Bet your masters thesis is real useful when the next storm dumps sewage in
Bet they taste exactly the same. Size doesn't mean flavour. Waste of time tbh
Love seeing real science in action! My kids are obsessed with the photos. Hope they plant some near our local beach
mate, bigger means tougher and chewier. Give me a normal sized one any day
Wait so they're just growing bigger mussels? Thought we already had massive ones down south. Is this actually new?
