Oh great, so now my taxes are supporting penguins nesting on farms? What a load of crap. Bloody government wasting money again.
out mate, nobody's taking your tax. They're literally saying penguins like farms. Read the article.
We've had hoiho nesting on our back paddock for years. They're good tenants, keep the grass short. Not sure why this is 'new' research.
If I find a penguin nesting in my cow paddock I'm naming it Gerald. 😂
the penguin farmer, I love it 😂
How long till the government bans farming near penguins? Wait for it…

This is awesome! Happy to share the land with our little yellow-eyed mates. Farmers and conservation working together, love to see it.
Next they'll tell us cows are ruining the penguin nests. Been farming here 30 years, never seen a penguin give a toss. More green tape incoming.
my point. They'll come for the farms eventually. It's never just 'hey look, penguins, cool'.
The comments here are funny af. Penguins don't care about politics Susan, they just want a safe hole to lay eggs. Good on the farmers helping out.
nah, it'll be 'penguin protection zones' next, you watch. Typical greenie rubbish.
Anyone know if this means we can get funding for predator control on our farm? Would love to do more for the little buggers.
real, look at all the doomers in here. Penguins don't give a damn about your politics, Karen.
As someone in ag, I'm all for biodiversity but this feels like a slippery slope. Next month it'll be 'we found endangered lizards love your pivot irrigators' and we'll all be shut down.
enough, but maybe we can help without banning things? Plenty of farmers keen to do the right thing.
Drove past a farm yesterday and saw what looked like a penguin waddling near the fence. Thought I was seeing things. Guess not!
Awesome! Hope you get one in your paddock, mate. They're beautiful birds.
