never heard of it either, but now i'm gonna be paranoid about every sniffle my kid gets
it's actually not that common but yeah knowledge is power aye. better to know than not
poor wee thing. hope she's doing okay now, deafness must be so hard for a kid that young
so is this the kinda thing they screen for at birth? seems like something we should be testing if it can cause deafness ffs
nah mate they don't screen for everything. would cost a fortune. but maybe they should for this one given the impact
my mate's kid had this. they caught it late too. why isn't there more awareness about cmv? healthcare system dropping the ball again

CMV's not new. pregnant women used to get told to wash hands properly. basic hygiene would prevent half these cases but no one listens
cope. they've known about cmv for decades. just nobody talks about it because it doesn't make headlines like the flu
typical. another thing we have to worry about. swear kids are getting sicker these days or am i just getting old lol
just read the full article. heartbreaking. imagine watching your kid lose their hearing and not even knowing why at first
facts. nothing prepares you for that diagnosis. the guilt must be unreal even though it's not anyone's fault
what a load of shit. so many viruses we don't even know about. makes you wonder what else is out there waiting to get us
yeah nah get stuffed with the hygiene narrative. my sister's super clean and her kid still got it. it's just bad luck sometimes
