Great, now I need a degree in Te Reo just to find my way to the beach.
Bloody council wasting our rates on renaming parks instead of fixing the potholes.
are important too but this isn't either/or. Both can get funding.
Honestly love to see it. These places had Māori names long before they were changed, about time we acknowledged that.
nah get stuffed. It's a waste of money and time.
If they can rename parks why can't they fix the trains? Priorities right?

Kia ora to everyone who worked on this. It's a small but meaningful step for our history.
ffs here we go, next they'll rename the whole country. Just leave the parks alone.
my rates shouldn't go to this virtue signalling crap.
About time we stopped pretending colonialism didn't happen. Happy to see these names back.
So many other actual problems and this is what council focuses on? Classic.
is respecting the original names 'virtue signalling'? It's just history.
Cool but how do I pronounce it? They should put pronounciations on signs.
use Google like the rest of us. It's not that hard.
signs do include pronunciation guides sometimes. Or just ask a local.
Embrace the change. Makes Aotearoa special. Love it.
